The mina heranadez Legacy Award
Mina Hernandez was not just a member of the Krewe of Petronius, our Ball Captain; and our friend. Mina never thought twice about helping anyone who was in need or wanted to learn about the Krewe she was involved in. She offered her knowledge and friendship regardless if she knew you or not. The Mina Hernandez Legacy Award is a given to a member of the community; and open to anyone who wants to learn about how the Krewe works, present a costume, and to be a part of our family.
The Legacy Award is given once a year to anyone interested and presented at our annual ball each year. Applications are taken online and considered and selected by a committee of three members (President, Ball Captain, and one Member.)
This is a general outline of the rules that are required to apply, and each recipient must agree to.
It is our goal to allow one member of the community to experience what it is like to belong to a Mardi Gras Krewe, and to honor Mina Hernandez. To show our love and devotion to a lady who impacted so many people within the community, and to always show our respect and love for her.
