Ms. Petronius pageant rules
- All contestants must be 21 (twenty-one) years of age or older to enter.
- All contestants agree to provide and show proof of age. The Krewe shall accept a valid state driver’s license, state issued ID, or Federally issued passport.
- All contestants must pay the $75.00 application fee.
- Application fee must be paid 30 days prior to the event date, and paid online.
- All applications have a 3.9% processing fee and a 0.35 transaction fee.
- All contestants agree to participate in the pageant voluntarily.
- All contestants will participate in three categories: talent, evening gown presentation, and speech.
- Talent: will be 6 minutes in length and must be a performance we haven’t seen before. This portion will comprise 25% of your overall score.
- Evening Gown: presentation will be 4 minutes long. Your gown must be an original design; something you haven’t worn before and must be formal. This portion will comprise 35% of your overall score.
- Speech: all contestants will be giving a question submitted by our judges. These will be blind questions, so the name of the judge will not be revealed, nor will contestants have access to the questions before hand. Answers must be articulate, concise, and have meaningful substance. This portion will comprise 25% of your overall score.
- The remaining 15% of your overall score will reflect your overall performance.
- Contestants are not allowed to speak to or engage in conversations with the judges for any reason.
- This includes sending someone on your behalf to engage with the judges.
- The Krewe shall allow one person of contact that can assist the contestants during the pageant and will have one person of contact for the winning contestant.
- Music for the talent portion must be submitted two weeks prior to the contest.
- It is the sole responsibility of the contestant(s) to cover all travel expenses. This includes the following.
- Any transportation cost (i.e. airfare, bus, train, personal/rented vehicle, parking, gas, and any other related travel expenses.)
- Any lodging cost (i.e. hotel, Airbnb, or other related lodging rentals.)
- Contestants are expected and required to act in a manner that shows respect for all fellow contestants, judges, and staff of venue.
- Contestants shall and will hold harmless the Krewe of Petronius, the pageant committee, its members, the venue, its owners, and employees of any personal items that are missing, and/or stolen, or damaged.
- Contestants shall and will hold harmless the Krewe of Petronius, the pageant committee, its members, the venue, its owners, and employees of any personal injury claims due to an injury.
- Winning contestant will act in a manner that is respectful, and supportive of the community.
- Winning contestant will be required to fulfil certain obligations during the year; must attend selected Petronius events, perform in at least three Krewe sponsored evetns and perform at our annual ball.
- Winning contestant understands the payout table.
- 50% of the cash prize will be given at the time of crowning in check form, the remainder of the funds will be released after the annal ball in check form. Runner up will receive 100% at the time of announcement.
- In the event the winning contestant is removed and/or resigns they will forfeit the remaining funds and must repay the released funds within 30 days of leaving the position. They must also return any prize(s) within 30 days of leaving the position.
- All contestants understand that any prizes and cash prizes might be subject to federal and/or state taxes, and it will the sole responsibility of the winning contestant and runner up to complete the necessary federal and state tax forms. The Krewe will not withhold any federal and/or state taxes on your behalf.
- Winning contestant may not wear their crown in the presence of our reigning royalty but can wear their sash.
- Winning contestant may represent the Krewe at official functions within the community with the approval of the Krewe.
- Winning contestant may give interviews to the public, with the approval of the Officer of Technology.
- This includes any T.V. media, social media, and any engagement with the public.
- If for any reason the winning contestant cannot fulfil their obligations and/or is removed the runner up will assume the position.
- You understand that the Pageant Committee has the sole responsibility to maintain, and execute this event, and shall and can remove anyone without cause for the following.
- Submitting fraudulent information to the Krewe, including on their application.
- Behaves in the manner deemed inappropriate by the Committee.
- Fails to meet their required duties to the Krewe.
- Winning contestants reign shall be for one year; and shall not be extended or to extend over that year. Their reign shall begin the night of the contest, and end at the following years contest.
- Winning contestant is not a registered member of the Krewe, and will not have any rights associated with membership in the Krewe. Contestant may attend any general meetings and provide any input or suggestions.
Pageant Information
- Date: Saturday, August 23, 2025
- Event Location: Bourbon Bub & Parade/ event is held upstairs (Parade.)
- Event Time: Doors open at 6:00PM/ Pageant starts at 7:30PM.
- All contestant must arrive one (1) hour prior to doors opening. and be ready by 7:30PM.
- Any contestant arriving after 6:00PM will be removed from the pageant.
- Contestants may bring one (1) person to assist them during the pageant.
